Online Resources for Training and Staying in Touch
Dear Nickel City Splash athletes,
First of all, I miss you all! I miss starting my days with your smiles, your positive energy and our safe pool space to take care of ourselves and each other. Masters Swimming brings health, fitness, friendships and social connections. All of these things are crucial to my mental health as well. You all make my days a little bit brighter. I thank you for being a part of Nickel City Splash, and I miss you!
Let’s use this time to refocus on what is important: Your goals, your daily routines and what you are doing for yourself. For a lot of us, our swimming was the one place we were doing something good for ourselves. As much as I wish I could still be a part of your daily routines, I think it is also good to take a breath, reevaluate and examine what we are doing good for ourselves.
If there is anything I can do to help you, please don’t hesitate to reach out! In the meantime, I challenge all of us to make ourselves better, make each other better, and make the world better during this time.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you need to chat — social distancing is tough!
With the help of some friends, I have compiled some resources for you to examine at your leisure. Take care of one another during this time!
I encourage you to read this quick piece by Jon Gordon and look for the opportunities you have each day to better yourself: What I Really Think About This Crisis.
